Seen & Supported: A Different Approach to Aesthetic Care

Aesthetic care doesn’t have to feel pressured or performative. Nurse Practitioner Roxanna Barzegar shares how her mental health background informs a nervous system-aware, honest, and empowering approach to injectables—one that helps you feel like you, not someone else.

When I first stepped into the world of aesthetics, I'll be honest — I was intimidated. Not by the medicine or the technique (I'm a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, after all), but by the pressure. The pressure to look perfect. The pressure to keep up. The pressure to erase any sign of age, exhaustion, or softness from a face that's been through real life.

But here's the truth: your face isn't a flaw to be fixed. It's a story to be honored.

I see the whole person, not just the skin

My approach to aesthetic care is deeply informed by my mental health background. I don't just see skin or structure. I see the whole person — nervous system and all. I listen for what's really driving the desire for change. I pace appointments so they feel calm and grounded. And I design treatments that enhance, not erase, what already makes you you.

How you feel during your appointment matters just as much as how you look afterward.

A space where you don't have to perform

You don't have to know all the lingo or walk in with an "ideal" feature in mind. Maybe you just want to look a little more rested. Or a little more like yourself after a hard season. That's enough.

I use FDA-approved products like Botox, dermal fillers, and chemical peels with precision, intention, and transparency. And I'll always tell you if I think less is more.

Paced for your nervous system, not the trend cycle

My treatments are shaped by real conversations, not trends, and they're paced to support your nervous system rather than rush it. That's not just a feeling — there's research behind it. A regulated nervous system improves our ability to heal and to feel safe in clinical settings (see Porges' Polyvagal Theory).

And this can also be a real joy. There's a particular kind of magic in watching someone light up in the mirror because they feel like themselves again. No ring lights or filters required.

You can be seen

In a world that often tells women to do more, fix more, chase more, I want to offer a different message:

You can pause. You can soften. You can be seen. And you can feel at home in your own skin again.
